Americans with Disabilities Act
The 16th Judicial Circuit of Missouri will take appropriate steps to ensure that communication with litigants, participants, jurors, and members of the public with disabilities is effective. No qualified individual with a disability will be excluded, by reason of such disability, from participation in or be denied the benefits of the services, programs, or activities of the Court, or be subjected to discrimination by the Court.

Parking
There is no designated free parking for the public at either courthouse. There are metered spaces designated for persons with disabilities on the north side of the Kansas City Courthouse on 12th Street, near the Oak intersection. Wheelchair accessible public parking is also available in the City Garage at the corner of 12th and Oak. For the Independence Courthouse, metered parking is available on the street in front of and on the sides of the courthouse.
Wheelchair Accessible Entries
The wheelchair accessible entrance for the downtown Kansas City courthouse is located on the west side of the building on Oak Street. Visitors needing accommodations should speak with security staff at the checkpoint.
