Jeffrey L. Bushur was appointed to the Associate Circuit Bench by Governor Mel Carnahan in June 2000. Judge Bushur worked in the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney's Office from 1985 until his appointment to the Court. Bushur's first position in the Prosecutor's Office was as a law intern; his tenure with that office culminated in his serving as Senior Trial Attorney. Judge Bushur earned his Juris Doctor 1986, and his Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Communication Studies in 1983, both from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Bushur was named Jackson County Prosecutor of the Year in 1995 and 1991. He served in the U.S. Army from 1975 - 1978.
